the art of holding your breath
Apnea, or the practice of holding one's breath, is the foundation for freediving. Apnea gives us the ability to discover the underwater world in its pure and natural setting.
This seminar will introduce the aspiring freediver to basic techniques that will encourage a longer breath hold. The experience takes place in a yoga studio where we practice 'dry apnea', meaning to hold one's breath out of the water.
This is a 2 hour introduction class. By the end of the session you will be amazed at your performance and will have learned to trust your body's natural ability to hold your breath, giving you the confidence to take your new skills into the water.
Things to bring: loose fitting comfortable clothing, a yoga mat, and water. It's best not to eat for at least 2 hours before class and, if possible, avoid caffeine throughout the day.
