The PADI Freediver course offers you the complete freediving experience including diving in open water. Upon completion of this course you will be a fully certified freediver, giving you the freedom to join other divers for dive sessions anywhere your travels may take you: the PADI Freediver certification is internationally recognized.


Confined water diving sessions are conducted at the George Harvey Collegiate Institute and Etobicoke Olympium.

Open water diving sessions are conducted primarily in Humber Bay Park West and

nearby Lake Simcoe.

To enroll in a PADI Freediver course you must be at least 15 years old. You need adequate swimming skills and to be in good physical health. No prior experience with snorkeling, skin diving or freediving is required.


Course includes:

  • Independent study with the PADI Freediver Touch interactive learning.

  • 1 workshop to review the independent study and to introduce students to breathing and equalization techniques for freediving.

  • 2 confined water sessions to learn static and dynamic apnea, duck dives, proper buddy procedure and practice equalization.

  • 2-3 open water sessions to practice free immersion freedives, constant weight freedives and proper buddy safety procedures.

  • Mask, fins, snorkel and weight belt are provided. Students are required to bring their own wetsuits for open water sessions. Options for wetsuits include:

    • Rent a wetsuit for the weekend at Aquarius Scuba.
